Winery

State of the art equipment

The winery building itself formerly stood in Linton, where in 1976, due for demolition, it was rescued beam by beam and re-erected on the estate. On entry to the winery the contrast between old and new is starkly apparent as rows of temperature controlled stainless steel fermentation vessels line the timber framed walls.

At Chilford Hall Vineyard our main aim is to produce clean, fresh, vibrant, aromatic wines which reflect our passionate approach to winemaking. We produce red, white, rosé and sparkling wines which express the uniqueness of our vineyard, climate and vine varieties.

From grape to bottle

The whole vinification process from grape to bottle, takes place on the estate under the expert management of the wine maker, Mark Barnes, ensuring strict quality control at each phase. The result of this rigorous oversight and expert management has been the increasing success of the wines produced by the estate at local and national levels. Chilford Hall Vineyard has proudly received many awards and accolades over recent years from both the National and Regional United Kingdom Vineyards Associations for the quality of its wine.

Wine produced on the estate is characterised by clean flavours, a fragrant nose, fruity body and good acidity.
